Belinda Adams
Belinda is a very experienced Box Office Manager who has been working with Aplin Partnership since 2008. Belinda has undertaken extensive research and consultancy work – undertaking phone interviews with Box Office Managers throughout Scotland, Queensland and Victoria, guiding the establishment of Box Offices and ticketing agency services throughout the UK and shortlisting and interviewing potential Box Office Managers and supporting numerous Box Office Managers through system change, significant process change and the adoption of new technology.
Her experience with a wide range of arts organisations means that she is able to quickly assess and audit all aspects of Box Office operations and support Managers and their teams through any challenge.
Belinda previously worked for Select Ticketing systems where she progressed from Training Specialist to succeed Beth as Customer Services Manager. Whilst there she designed and delivered the training for the Royal Albert Hall installation, a series of short courses round the UK and managed a team of 18 people.
Her original experience was gained as Box Office Manager of Brighton Dome, which grew under her management from 2 members of staff in 1986 to a team of 14 plus casuals. When Passv1 was introduced in 1992 Belinda seized the opportunity to establish the Dome Box Office as the central point of sale for most of Brighton’s venues offering a Ticket Shop facility and a marketing service.
The Brighton Dome Box Office was also regarded as one of the best run box offices from a technical view and such was Belinda’s expertise on PASS, that Brighton Dome was chosen as the first installation in the UK to convert to PASSv2 – a challenging experience.
Belinda has significant experience of running a very busy Box office with all the challenges that this entails such as: dealing with customers, promoters, ticket agents and different venue management. Also the handling of staff, staffing levels, customer satisfaction and expectations. She liaised with all departments within her own and many other clubs and arts venues around Brighton.
Whilst at the Dome Complex, Belinda gained a teacher training qualification and used this experience to devise and deliver ongoing training programs for the Box Office team.
Belinda is a qualified adult education tutor and for many years has taught adults through Local Authority funded programs.
