Agreement about audience behaviour
Differing views about how your audiences behave
If different departments, levels of manager and Board have very different views about how your audiences actually behave this can cause fundamental misunderstandings within an organisation.
It is all too easy for every member of staff and the Board to have a subtly different (sometimes a significantly different) view about how your audiences attend and interact with your organisation. his can have far reaching impacts. So many decisions are influenced by a perception of how frequently your audience attends, how your audience relates to you, what else they do in their lives. Deep set differing opinions can lead to significant disagreements about strategy and tactics.
Underestimating the knowledge some staff members
It can be demoralising for members of staff, and ultimately neglectful for an organisation, to underestimate the customer knowledge of front line members of staff. Staff members who talk to customers, see how they interact with the organisation, its buildings, artistic output and marketing materials, will have an insight which is invaluable.
